Ghanaian international soul and jazz singer, Stephanie Benson, has appealed to well-meaning privileged Ghanaian women to unite and contribute towards assisting victims of breast cancer.
“Those who need our help ,let’s all give it. We women, the ones who are privileged, donate or give something small to support,” she said a short video as part of her breast cancer awareness campaign.
Ms Benson, who is a breast cancer survivor, has a campaign to support other women going through the same medical problem but unable to finance the treatment.
The ‘One More’ hit maker has adopted a breast cancer victim and funds her re-constructive surgeries aimed at putting her back in shape and has urged other women to do so.
Breast cancer develops from breast tissue and claims the lives of thousands of women annually. In Ghana, about 2,900 cases are diagnosed annually and at least one of eight women with the disease dies according to a World Health Organization report.
